in the California desert. This Mc Donnell Douglas A-4M was assigned to the VMA-311 (Marine Attack Squadron) Tomcats based at the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS), California. The aircraft crashed on May 10, 1982 in the California desert after a engine failure. The pilot ejected after he tried unsuccessfully to restart the engine. |
