Desert Gold Mine, California

| Mining in
this area dates back to the mid 1870's. This gold mine was first located
back in 1889 and operated into the late 1890's and was later reworked in
the 1930's. Artifacts from the late 1880's to 1941 can be found at this
site. We also found cast wheels that I think look like parts from a 1800's
stamp mill at this site. The miners walked away from this mine in 1941 and all work here came to an end for good. |
